It would take 12 hours. Or can even take a Sumo (8 hours) for anywhere between Rs150 to 400 per passenger - from Bus Stand. Be there before 8:00 AM. From Katra also you may get direct bus/Sumo to Srinagar. Or may have to change in Udhampur. Just make sure you plan to leave early in the morning. All this is to managed once you are there - but it gets managed. Ideal would be to take a taxi for your trip, but sure it will be more expensive (3000 - 4000).
