also want to go to Srinagar – come to Jammu or go from Katra to Srinagar – travel time and bus services aviable
First will be visiting katra and then will be heading to Srinagar – pls do advice to take bus from Katra or come to Jamun bus stand for Srinagar ??

Hi – you can take a JKSRTC bus from Jammu to Srinagar for around Rs200. It would take 12 hours. Or can even take a Sumo (8 hours) for anywhere between Rs150 to 400 per passenger – from Bus Stand. Be there before 8:00 AM.
On way back to go to Amritsar, there are direct trains from Jammu all seven days.

or there are plenty to trains which can take you to Jalandhar, and then there are plenty to take you to Amritsar.
From Katra also you may get direct bus/Sumo to Srinagar. Or may have to change in Udhampur. Just make sure you plan to leave early in the morning.
All this is to managed once you are there – but it gets managed. Ideal would be to take a taxi for your trip, but sure it will be more expensive (3000 – 4000).

@ Mark you can better take small vehicles from Jammu to srinagar rather than a bus it will be quick and comfortable.
Normally JKSRTC is treated as best bus to srinagar but will take lot of time incase you are ok with that go ahead and board JKSRTC Bus
